Korea - Day 2
We arrived in Seoul at 17:00 yesterday. The flight was okay but I wasn’t able to catch up on the last night sleep. We saw a blooming cherry tree at the airport. I thought it was cherry blossom, but now I start to believe it was just a fake tree.
The past two days have been very tiring. Xoài was grumpy for the whole day and just wanted to stick with Nga. Today, we went to Hanboknam for hanbok renting, but she didn’t let Nga change her clothes and screamed from the top of her lungs. We guess the place was too crowded and scary for her.
We then went to Gyeongbokgung for a short walk and photoshoot. It was too sunny to take great photos, but we managed to take some nices ones with the whole family.
Bơ and Xoài enjoyed their sensory play (Nga’s joke) with the sands in the palace the most. Fortunately, we could chill a bit while they were at that. I guess it’s the hightlight of Gyeongbokgung to them. It’s funny how life works from many different perspectives.
In the afternoon, we got help from my parents to watch over their lunch nap and went shopping at Seongsu-dong. Our shopping experience at Tamburins and Standoil was super cool, especially at Tamburins. A sale assistant would tag along with us and made sure we have a good understanding of what we were going to buy. Ultimately, we got 5 bottles in various size for ourselves and also gifting. We also purchased some bags and polo before heading back. It for sure didn’t feel like fulfilling, as we didn’t have a lot of times in Seongsu. We for sure will come back for more in this trip and the near future.
The Summer Festival drone show in the evening was amazing. We rented a carpet, but everything went wrong. Due to my bad planning, the carpet set and the food (subway and lotteria) only got to the family at 8:15pm. Everyone was hungry and tired. Fortunately, the family was impressed by the show, and I think Bơ is gonna tell the stories to her teachers for a long while. Xoài on the other hand was scared of the drone for the whole time. She didn’t even want to sleep because of that. She could only get back to normal after being on the metro ride back to the hotel.
I’m really tired now but I feel like putting this down before my memory changes.
